  • Xeno Crisis

Immersing players in a science fiction military setting, Xeno Crisis offers a captivating blend of arena shooter mechanics and innovative design. Developed by Bitmap Bureau and released in 2019, the game draws inspiration from classic titles like Smash TV and Robotron 2084. Set within a series of procedurally generated rooms, players navigate through intense battles against alien monsters, utilizing a variety of weapons and strategic upgrades.

The gameplay emphasizes resource management, with limited ammunition and dog tags serving as crucial elements for progression. Players can spend these dog tags to enhance their health, speed, and weaponry, adding a layer of strategic depth to each encounter. The game supports both single-player and multiplayer modes, with co-op play significantly enhancing the experience by fostering teamwork and shared strategies.

Available on multiple platforms including Neo Geo, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, PS Vita, and PC (Steam), Xeno Crisis offers versatile gameplay experiences tailored to each system. The Mega Drive version presents a more challenging control scheme due to its limited button configuration, while the Neo Geo and Dreamcast versions boast enhanced graphics, smoother performance, and a more immersive soundtrack. Additionally, the PS Vita and PC versions provide modern conveniences such as save points and customizable controls, improving overall playability.

Despite its engaging mechanics, Xeno Crisis is noted for its high difficulty level, particularly in single-player mode. However, the multiplayer experience mitigates this challenge, making the game more accessible and enjoyable for a broader audience. The procedurally generated maps ensure that each playthrough remains unique, offering endless replayability and continuous challenges.
